TL;DR — Key Facts
- →Wingstop's Canadian rights belong to one master franchisee, JPK Capital, under a 2021 agreement to develop 100 restaurants over 10 years.
- →JPK Capital owns and operates every Wingstop in Canada. Its leadership told Retail Insider in 2024 there were "no plans for any sub-franchising."
- →As of October 2025 there were 15 Wingstop restaurants in Canada, all in Ontario, with three Calgary locations planned for the first half of 2026.
- →No Canadian franchise fee or investment range is published for individual buyers, because individual franchises are not being sold.
The Short Answer: Not as an Individual Franchisee
You cannot currently buy a Wingstop franchise in Canada. Wingstop sold the Canadian rights to a single company, JPK Capital, a single-family office led by Joe Poulin. In April 2021 the two signed an agreement for JPK to develop 100 Wingstop restaurants across Canada over 10 years.
JPK Capital is the exclusive master franchisee for Canada (and for Australia and New Zealand), and it owns and operates every Canadian restaurant itself. In a June 2024 interview with Retail Insider, JPK's leadership said there were "no plans for any sub-franchising" and that the company would be "owning and operating each location."
So when you search for a Wingstop franchise in Canada, there is no franchise application to fill in and no Canadian price list for individual buyers.
Where Wingstop Operates in Canada
The first Canadian Wingstop opened in Toronto. As of October 2025, JPK Capital had opened 15 Wingstop restaurants, all in Ontario.
The first expansion outside Ontario was announced for Calgary, starting with three locations in the first half of 2026, including a flagship at CF Chinook Centre. JPK has said it plans to open more than 200 locations across Canada and Australia over the next decade, and to expand coast to coast.
Every one of those restaurants is planned as a JPK-owned location under the current model.
What a Wingstop Franchise Would Cost in Canada
No Canadian figure exists for an individual buyer. Because JPK Capital is not selling franchises, there is no Canadian franchise fee, investment range or royalty published for individuals.
Figures you may see online for "Wingstop franchise cost Canada" are US numbers, sometimes converted to Canadian dollars. They describe what a US franchisee pays Wingstop under a US disclosure document, not anything you can buy in Canada. We do not publish them here.
If JPK Capital ever opens sub-franchising, the terms would come in a Canadian disclosure document from JPK. In Ontario, the Arthur Wishart Act requires that document at least 14 days before you sign or pay anything.
