FundBizPro (fundbizpro.com) is an independent guide to financing and buying a small business or franchise, run from Quebec, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described here.

Everyone. Cloudflare, our host, receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, as every web server does, and keeps request logs for security and troubleshooting. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, referrers, country, device type and page load times without cookies. Google Fonts receives your IP address when your browser downloads our fonts.

If you accept cookies. PostHog records which pages you visit, what you click, how far you scroll, your device and browser, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address), whether you arrived from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, and a random ID kept in a cookie so repeat visits can be linked. It also makes session recordings: a replay of how the page moved as you used it, so we can see where a page confuses people or breaks. Anything you type into a form field is masked in recordings and never captured. Recordings also include browser console messages and page load timings.

If you reject cookies, or have not chosen yet. Nothing is recorded. If you reject, PostHog still counts page views and clicks in cookieless mode: nothing is stored in your browser, and PostHog derives a temporary anonymous ID on its servers instead of using a cookie. While you have not chosen, PostHog sends nothing at all.

When a form is submitted successfully, PostHog records that it happened and which tool it came from, never what you entered. The full list of cookies, with how long each lasts, is in the cookie policy.

Our calculators, guides and newsletter forms collect your email address and, where the form asks for them, your name, phone number and the answers you gave the tool (for example deal stage, business type, location, loan amount, revenue range or credit score range). We store them in our database and send ourselves a notification email so we can follow up. We use them to send what you asked for, to follow up with you about financing and buying a business, and, if you signed up for it, to send our newsletter.

The lending readiness and financing calculators send your contact details and answers to us by email and store them in our database. The site does not send them to any lender.

Some tools email you a result you asked for: an SBA lender question list, a business or location report, a waitlist confirmation, or alerts when a location you saved changes score.

We never sell or rent your email address, and it is not sent to PostHog or to any advertiser. Every email we send to you has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. After you unsubscribe we stop newsletters and alerts to that address; an email you ask for again later, such as a new report, still arrives. You can also write to [PRIVACY_CONTACT_EMAIL] and we will remove you.

Most calculators run entirely in your browser: the numbers you enter are not sent to us unless you also submit a form with your email.

The AI-assisted tools (the FDD analyzer, the SBA question generator, the franchise matcher and the location and business scoring tools) send the details you enter from our server to Anthropic's Claude API to write the result. The location and business tools also send the address or business name you type to Google Maps Platform to find it and its surroundings. Your email address is never part of these requests.

If you buy a report, Stripe handles the payment on its own checkout page. We receive confirmation that the payment went through and the email address you gave Stripe, never your card details. Franchisors who use the franchisor dashboard sign in with an account we set up with them, and the locations they upload are stored in our database.

FundBizPro has no affiliate links and no lender or franchisor partnerships, and no partner scripts run on the site. See the affiliate disclosure.

• Analytics cookies and session recordings: your consent, given in the cookie banner.
• Form submissions, the results we email you and the newsletter: your consent, given when you submit the form, and the steps you asked us to take.
• Paid reports and the franchisor dashboard: the contract you entered into with us.
• Server logs, cookieless visit counts and security: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working, with no cookies involved.

These service providers handle personal information for us, each under its own privacy policy. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other US state privacy laws.

These providers store data in the United States, so your information leaves Quebec, Canada and, if you are visiting from there, the EU or UK. We chose providers that publish privacy terms and data processing agreements, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where they apply. Data stored in another country is subject to that country's laws, including access by its authorities.

• PostHog events: 1 year. PostHog session recordings: 1 month.
• Form submissions and the mailing list: until you ask us to delete them. Unsubscribing stops the emails; ask us if you also want the record deleted.
• Unsubscribe records: for as long as we send email, so we keep honouring them.
• Details sent to the AI-assisted tools: not stored by us, except where the tool saves a report you asked for.
• Cloudflare request logs: a short period set by Cloudflare's log retention, not by us.
• Cookies in your browser: see the cookie policy. Your cookie choice lasts 6 months.

Withdraw cookie consent at any time with Cookie settings (also at the bottom of every page). Analytics stops straight away and the analytics data stored on fundbizpro.com is deleted from your browser. Withdrawing does not undo what was collected before.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, send it to you in a structured, commonly used format, or stop using it. Email [PRIVACY_CONTACT_EMAIL] and we will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm the email address the request is about. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, your state attorney general or privacy regulator in the US, your local data protection authority in the EU, or the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.

The site is written for adults buying or financing a business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 14. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

The site is served only over HTTPS, the database is read and written only by our server, access to our provider accounts is limited to us, and we collect as little as each feature needs. If a confidentiality incident puts your personal information at risk of serious harm, we will tell you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as Quebec law requires.

We update this page when what we collect or who processes it changes, and change the date at the top. If a change means asking for new consent, the cookie banner appears again.
